Trinitas is pursuing a high-density residential project along State Road 26 currently zoned for
single-family housing.
A new neighborhood with single family homes has always been anticipated and welcomed.
A rezone to R3 high-density student housing, such as The Cottages on Lindberg, pictured below,
is not welcome.
Your voices were heard and listened to!!
The APC voted
UNANIMOUSLY to DENY
a recommendation of approval to the commissioners.
There is one step left in stopping this rezone...
the official vote from the commissioners on March 1st.

THE END GOAL FOR THE DEVELOPER IS TO HAVE HIGH-DENSITY STUDENT HOUSING. LINDBERG HAS HAD YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION TO ACCOMMODATE STUDENT HOUSING AND MOST RECENTLY KLONDIKE ROAD.
THE ENTRANCE TO THE DEVELOPMENT IS PROPOSED ON A CURVY, HILLY PORTION OF STATE ROAD 26. THIS ROAD IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE INCREASE IN TRAFFIC. ACCIDENTS WILL INCREASE.
THIS IMPACTS NOT ONLY THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS BUT ALL PEOPLE WHO TRAVEL STATE ROAD 26.
THIS DEVELOPMENT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BRING PURDUE STUDENTS IN DROVES
TO A RESIDENTIAL AREA.
STUDENTS DESERVE TO LIVE AND BEHAVE AS STUDENTS DO.
OUR RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS DESERVE TO LIVE AS WE DO AND NOT HAVE THE CROSSOVER.
OUR FIRE AND POLICE RESOURCES ARE ALREADY MAXED OUT. THIS DEVELOPMENT WILL JEOPARDIZE US FINANCIALLY THROUGH THE INCREASE OF PROPERTY TAXES AND PHYSICALLY THROUGH THE LIMITATION OF POLICE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY CHECKS AND INCREASE DEMAND ON OUR EMTs.
SEE MIDDLE PICTURE ABOVE!!!
THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT WILL BRING HUNDREDS OF FRONT PORCH LIGHTS IN ADDITION TO 25 PARKING LOT HIGH-DENSITY LIGHT POLES TAKING AWAY OUR NIGHT SKY FULL OF VISIBLE STARS AND THE DIRECT NEIGHBORS WILL HAVE ALL THIS LIGHT POLLUTION DIRECTLY IN THEIR BACKYARDS.
THIS HIGH-DENSITY LIVING IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THIS CORRIDOR AND THE RESIDENTS THAT PURCHASED HOUSES COULD LOSE PROPERTY VALUE AS THE APARTMENTS AGE OR DO NOT MAINTAIN THEIR INITIAL LEVEL OF MAINTENANCE AND RENTER SELECTIVITY. WHEN THESE PROPERTIES FAIL TO FILL OCCUPANCY WITH STUDENTS, THE REMAINING UNITS TYPICALLY BECOME TRANSIENT.
